Tidal pool swimming in the UK

A tidal pool is one of the UK's most underrated swimming spots. Carved by the sea over centuries, replenished with each tide, salt water and clean โ€” they give you the experience of sea swimming with a little more predictability. The best ones are works of natural engineering: old quarry cuttings, Victorian bathing pools, rock formations that happen to create a perfect swim. Cornwall has the greatest concentration, but there are remarkable examples along the Welsh coast, in Scotland, and up the Yorkshire shore. They're usually free. They're usually worth the walk to find them.
